Destination videos, summer edition

Two recent videos have caught my eye for the unique way that they promote their destination.

The Grand Rapids LipDub video went viral, hitting more than 2.5 million views in the first two weeks. It was created as a response to an article in Newsweek calling Grand Rapids a “dying city.”

“The Grand Rapids LipDub Video was filmed May 22nd, with 5,000 people, and involved a major shutdown of downtown Grand Rapids, which was filled with marching bands, parades, weddings, motorcades, bridges on fire, and helicopter take offs. It is the largest and longest LipDub video, to date.” – Rob Bliss, Director & Executive Producer

This Jump to Portorož video reminds me a little of Leavenworth’s Goomsba video. It’s a fun, fresh way to highlight all that a destination has to offer.

Roughly translated from Slovenian:

It’s “the” video this summer! It had more than 150 people, while filming took place in the air, on land and under water.  It is the most crazy trip to Portoroz and Piran in the company of famous and less famous faces who took the reins again and indulged in a crazy party.

What unique or inspiring destination videos have you seen lately?
